February 2024 Ministry Recap

Updated: Apr 9

February was packed with ministry and travel. Thankfully the whole family was traveling together for much of the month getting to connect with churches and leaders around the Commission Family of churches.

FEB 4th

PREACHING AT VINE CHURCH

It was a joy to preach at Vine Church in Odiham on The Fruits of the Spirit. We loved spending time with their church family as well as new friends the Clarks. Joshua is one of the Students at Union School of Theology and the associate pastor alongside Andy LeRoux at Vine Church. Pray for this multisite church to continue to thrive. They have dozens of people seeking Jesus through their Alpha Course this Spring. Join us in praying for salvations here especially within their youth group students.

March 9th-12th

PASTORS GATHERING IN PORTUGAL

It was real joy for Adam to teach ministry leaders and their spouses in Porto, Portugal alongside the Millers and Joe Leach. This was the first time Adam was out of the country since Jack was born. The theme of the conference was Faith. It was an incredible time to see so many relationships come together to make this event happen in God's providence. We are also excited to see some of our Portuguese speaking friends over the years be resourced and connected in Brazil, Portugal, and Mozambique.

FEB 18th

PREACHING AT VPBC

It was a joy to bring the word to Victoria Park Baptist Church. You can listen to the sermon here: Ridiculous Healing Naaman 2 Kings 5 . Please continue to pray for VPBC and reaching Victoria Park with the gospel.

FEB 21st

THE UNREACHED NETWORK GATHERING

The Unreached Network exists to co-ordinate best practice in cross-cultural mission across the global Newfrontiers family.  Newfrontiers is a group of leaders partnering together on global mission, joined by common values and beliefs, shared mission and genuine relationships. Pray for each of these networks to work together to send missionaries and raise up leaders in this next generation.

TRAINING FOR LEADERSHIP AND MINISTRY

It was a joy hosting Level 2 Training in February at Hope Church, Winchester. Guest speaker Adrian Birks came and taught future church leaders about the sacraments.

FEB 25th

GRACE CHURCH CHICHESTER

Adam with Grace Church Elders: Tony, Johnny, and Joe

Being on mission together is one of the best ways to build friendships! It was honor to go to Portugal with Joe Leach and then I had a blast being with Grace Church Chichester. Unfortunately sick kiddos prevented us all from going together. That Sunday morning I preached on: “The King We Need, His Transfiguration Matthew 17:1-13”. It was so fun to have such gospel, Jesus focused sermon with their Bogner Reis congregation. People loved focusing on Jesus together!

That evening we held, “An evening for Overseas Missions for Grace Chichester”. Personally this was one of the most fulfilling and full circle moments since we moved to London. This night was special. This church came ready to receive and to worship. There was a palpable expectation in the room to hear from God. I have described Grace Church like a pool of gas that was waiting for a match to be lit and throne on it. It was an honor to share some of our story, how God is moving in the nations, and then challenge people to consider their role in God's global mission. The worship and prayer time afterwards was so encouraging. People worshipped Jesus boldly and joyfully. Praying for the lost and for each other to be empowered. I am still praising Jesus for being a part of this evening.

FEB 28th - MAR 1st

Commission Leadership Conference:

Adam was blessed to teach on “Sending Like Jesus” The heart behind this is looking at how local churches can collaborate through healthy partnerships with trusted organizations who specialize. We are continuing to praise God for the tremendous @commission.global leadership conference in Bournemouth. We had over 400 leaders gather from across the movement. We are grateful for @guyamiller and @heatherjjmiller leading the way for our family of churches. Tim Blaber did a fantastic job carrying the vision of this conference and it was reflected in every sermon and seminar. We were also served by @drmichaelreeves who leads @uniontheology so well. This was a full circle moment for me from reading his book Delighting in the Trinity in our own seminary studies at @dallasseminary under Dr. Scott Horrell.
