Experiencing Gospel Movement Around the Table

This past week, we experienced something special—a glimpse of how Jesus still meets people around the table, just as He did in Luke 7:34. We traveled from London to Torquay and back again, but what made it powerful wasn’t just the places. It was the people. The stories. The meals shared. The vision renewed.

We’re incredibly thankful for Pete and Esther Clayton and the team at Together Church in Torquay. They welcomed us with open arms and open tables, modeling what it looks like to be a community on mission. Our time with Todd Morr and friends from Commission Global stirred deep conversations about how missional communities can carry the gospel through everyday life—right where we are.

Back in London, we connected with a growing network of leaders passionately pursuing this same vision:

• Dr. Neil Powell of The London Project

• John Allert with Via Nations

• Dave Rogers with Commission, and others—each seeking to reach the nations both in London and from London.

As we plant Story Church London, we believe that missional communities are essential—not just an optional strategy, but a foundational expression of church life. These are mid-sized groups that gather in homes across the city to eat together, pray, open Scripture, and live on mission in their neighborhoods. In a city as global and fast-paced as London, we long to see disciples made not just in rows on Sunday, but around tables throughout the week. That’s why we’re committed to multiplying these groups—to see gospel transformation happen street by street, story by story.
