Big news! Team Watson is on the move! This Wednesday July 19th (in the evening) we will be flying one way to London, England as we begin this new season as a family! Here we go!
As we say farewell to family and friends in Georgia this week we are looking back at this past year with joy and thankfulness for all that God has done. We’ve also said farewell to things that we know Lucy and we will miss, like saying goodbye to our car before we sold it this past week and helping Lucy say goodbye to Chick-fil-A’s playground. Of course we will miss that too :)
We are thrilled for this new season in London as a family, for ministry, and all that God has in store! Lucy knows she’s going to see Paddington Bear in London and that she is going to see new friends. She’s also already been invited to a new friend’s birthday party!
It was a year ago that we returned from North Africa and the Middle East praying about where God was leading us. God has blessed us and written a story that we could never have written ourselves. We have experienced his grace in this season of preparation. There have been so many answered prayers and many of you reading this message have been a part of these answered prayers. We have seen God provide connections, financial support pieces, a place to live when we land, serving with Commission Global and New International. From the timing of our visas getting approved, raising support, and so much more we can see evidence of God going before us.
As Moses prayed, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.” (Exodus 33:15 ESV) We have prayed a similar prayer in this journey. Lord only lead us where you are going before us. In His grace, He has confirmed each step of faith over and over again.
This Sunday we were commissioned and prayed over by the elders at Lake Arrowhead Church. This has been such a wonderful season as we have prepared to go long-term to London. God knew this community and their friendship was exactly what we needed before we launched overseas. As we reflect on our time with family and the Lake Arrowhead Community we are reminded of Hebrews 13:7 “Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.” (Hebrews 13:7 ESV) We are so thankful for all of our new church family at Lake Arrowhead for their support, encouragement, and love.
Join us in prayer for the people in London and Lord willing the nations that we will reach over the coming years. We look forward to seeing all that God is doing with you, we know we would not be able to say yes to Jesus in this way, without the support of so many of you. Thank you for joining us on this journey. We look forward to sharing all that God is doing!
Specific Prayer Requests:
Laura and Baby Boy are healthy and we will be moving at 30 weeks pregnant. Please be praying for the continued health of our baby and for all of the medical details to continue to fall into place as we move and get settled with the NHS and a new healthcare system.
Some of our best friends will be in London on vacation when we arrive this week, please pray for a joyful reunion and a fun time for Lucy and her friend.
We are looking for a long term flat in London. God has provided a temporary flat at the church we will be serving alongside. We will need to find a long term flat before the baby arrives. Pray for God to lead us and open the right place for us to live.
